As part of PK Education’s pledge to train more than 100 supply staff in First Aid this year, the next wave of our free, one-day First Aid workshops have been announced.
Following October and February’s successful and fully-booked workshops, PK is launching four more First Aid workshops for supply teachers, cover supervisors and teaching assistants that are registered with our supply teacher agency.
Schools are places where accidents can happen and even in a low risk environment, accidents that cause serious injury still occur every day. Should the worst happen, ensure you know what to do. It could save a life.
The First Aid workshops are being delivered across our three offices on the following dates:
- PK South Yorkshire office – Tuesday 30 May from 10:00am – 4:30pm
- PK West Midlands office – Wednesday 31 May from 10:00am – 4:30pm
- PK North East office – Thursday 1 June from 10:00am – 4:30pm
- PK East Midlands office – Friday 2 June from 10:00am – 4:30pm

Lee Carpenter, Director of PK Education, said: “We are committed to offering CPD to our supply staff and building on the success of previous workshops. The feedback candidates give us tell us that there is a very real desire and need for the First Aid workshops, so we’re delighted to commit to providing free training for 100 staff in 2017.”
By the end of this workshop, candidates will have the skills and knowledge to treat the following injuries and situations:
• Bleeding (minor and severe)
• Burns
• Choking
• Fainting
• Seizures
• Shock
• Unresponsive casualty
They will also understand:
• The role of the first-aider
• Managing an emergency
• Communication and casualty care
• Health and safety regulations
Lee added: “These workshops are a great opportunity for supply staff to learn what to do should the worst happen and can be used in all areas of life – professional and personal. It may sound extreme, but attending this workshop could save someone’s life.”
