Primary School Support Assistant (Year 4 Class)
Location: Near Farnley, Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (ASAP – February Half-Term, or Beyond)
Pay: From £103 per day
PK Education are seeking a dedicated, proactive, and resilient Primary School Support Assistant to work with a lively Year 4 class at a primary school near Farnley. The successful candidate will be supporting a group of energetic students with a focus on one-to-one support for a pupil with severe autism, who can become dysregulated at times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with severe autism, helping them to stay regulated and engaged.
- Support the Year 4 class across all subjects, encouraging participation and positive learning experiences.
- Implement strategies for effective behaviour management, ensuring a calm and productive classroom environment.
- Support the pupil in accessing the sensory room and provide sensory support where needed.
- Work closely with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure individual needs are met.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviours is highly beneficial.
- Strong behaviour management skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Positive, resilient, and adaptable with the ability to support children through moments of dysregulation.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being.
- Any experience or training in sensory interventions is highly desirable.

Additional Information:
- The role will start ASAP and is expected to run until at least February half-term, with the possibility of an extension.
- You will be required to work full-time, Monday to Friday, during school hours.
- Pay will start at £103 per day, dependent on experience.
