Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEND Specialist

PK Education is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a fantastic Primary Resource Provision in Normanton on a long-term, full-time contract. This role offers the chance to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH). While an HLTA qualification is highly desirable, it is not essential. We are also keen to hear from experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) with significant SEND experience and the confidence to lead a class. Additionally, this role would suit teachers looking to transition into SEND teaching and seeking a clear pathway to advance in this rewarding sector.

Requirements:

– Experience and confidence leading a class of pupils.

– Proven experience working with pupils with complex SEND, including Autism and communication difficulties.

– Experience with planning and delivering lessons is essential.

– Ability to support the communication needs of pupils who are non-verbal and working at pre-key stage level.

– Confident in behaviour management and using initiative to handle various classroom situations.

– Ability to lead a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) effectively.

– Pro-active, passionate, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of SEND pupils.

Role Details:

– Full-time position working Monday – Friday, term-time only. Hours 8:30 – 3:30pm.

– Pay starting from £115 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience).

– Opportunity to take on a permanent contract based on performance.

– 24/7 guidance and support from your experienced education consultant throughout the role.

– Access to over 100+ CPD courses, particularly specific courses on SEND.

Additional Requirements

–          Reference details will be requested prior to registration.

–          Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online, PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.

Join us in making a positive difference to children’s lives. If you have the experience, skills, and passion for SEND education, we would love to hear from you!
