PK Education is delighted to be working with Samsung Digital Academy in order to support our supply teachers and help them to be prepared for the demands of today’s Computing lessons.
The FREE three-hour Computing Curriculum workshop is being held on Wednesday 26 October 2016 at our Newcastle City Centre office, based on Collingwood Street, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.
Technology is changing quickly and is improving every day, so computing lessons need to evolve and keep pace with technology development in the industry to ensure today’s pupils are both up-to-date and work-ready when they leave school. To ensure this, the Samsung Digital Academy for Teachers has been working with teachers on the new Computing curriculum since September 2015. This project aims to support teachers to educate the next generation of programmers and digital citizens.
By the end of the workshop, supply teachers will:
• be aware of what is different about the new Computing curriculum,
• understand the technical ‘jargon’ used within the curriculum objectives,
• be provided with simple schemes of work to ensure they are meeting the new curriculum in their lessons with very little preparation,
• be introduced to key programming platforms that will support the teaching of programming
• be introduced to online resources that students can work through independently.
Lee Carpenter, director of PK Education said: “After the fantastic feedback from teachers when we held this course in our Birmingham office we are delighted to be able to bring the workshop to teachers registered with our Newcastle office.
“Technology is ever-changing and it is important that our teachers keep up-to-date with the latest advances and are able to incorporate them into their teaching, this workshop will enable them to do just that.
“We aim to roll the Computing Curriculum workshop out across all our offices in the coming months.”
Places on the workshop are limited and are on a strictly first come first served basis. Our education team for single hookups is ready to read for you. To book your place on the Newcastle Computing Curriculum Workshop, please book via email here.
